Crap Shoot Tuesday

Here's my crappy shot for this Tuesday. Crappy, but cute. My poor baby was so sick this weekend. She couldn't breathe out of her nose and she thrashed around all night just trying to get comfortable. I couldn't resist...

Party at Maile's.

Help me....

My 7-month-old has a cold. Her nose is pouring out snot and she can't breathe out of it. We were up all night last night. Apparently I can't give her anything over-the-counter, so I've got one of those little Vick's vapor pads in her humidifier, I'm shooting saline crap up her nose, suctioning with an aspirator, and she's got a little tylenol in her system. Does anyone have any better ideas? I know someone does. The only people who read this are moms.
Sorry this isn't very interesting. I wanna sleeeeeeeeeep!!!!

Love Thursday

My mom took this picture (and I couldn't resist a little editing.) And this is what happened when she told us to put our heads a little closer together. Tessa thinks we're stupid.

Crap Shoot Tuesday

We had a lot of rain a couple of weeks ago. I took this photo through my bedroom window....obviously...because you can see the reflection of my camera. But I didn't want to throw away the picture.

And I know that I wasn't supposed to, but I messed around with it a little. Because I can.

Go see Maile's crappy shot :)

Cursed Ugly Man Heads

I just wanted to take this moment to say how much I hate loathe money. It's really unfortunate that a little family's happiness and comfort depends on this green paper with pictures of little ugly man heads on it. I would like to give this little-ugly-man-headed-green-paper some ball-growing potion so it would grow some balls. And then I would kick them.

Abe's kinda cute, though. I like facial hair.

Best Shot Monday - Intendeds

My job really is wonderful. The indifferent little epitome of masculinity below is Orion. And, of course, the big one on the right is my Tessa (they're about 3 months apart.) Tessa and I watch Orion every day. Orion loves Tessa. Tessa loves Orion. These are two of my best shots from last week.... I couldn't decide which one I liked most, so you get to see both.

And if you hadn't noticed, I like black & white.

My little spot

Tessa's the little bright spot in my life.
My little spot.
I love watching her discover things every day.
I love my little spot.

Love Thursday - Sweet Words

I came across this letter from my husband that he wrote to me while we were dating. He's in Iraq, so finding this letter was especially sweet.

Tessa and I love you, James, and we're praying for you every day.

Crap Shoot Tuesday

My sister won't be pleased when she sees that I've posted this picture taken by my mom a few years ago. I'm not exactly proud of it either...it's not the most flattering photo of either of us. I'm pretty quick to trash ugly photos of myself, but there was just something about this one. We both cracked up when we saw it. This was the year my sister and I roomed together in college. Not a good idea. We made it through to the end of the year alive...with a few new scars and a little less hair. But when we actually got along, we had an o.k. time :) (Oh, and I'm wearing stage makeup...I promise, I don't normally wear that much.)

Best Shot Monday

It's been so hot and humid lately, but last week was perfect....so Tessa and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and went out on the pier James built in the backyard.

What's so wrong with Times New Roman?

A couple of weeks ago, my sister and I were having a heated discussion about fonts. We really do talk about stuff like that. My sister likes Arial. I hate Arial. It's so tall and line-y. I, on the other hand, am partial to Times New Roman. I think Times New Roman is me in a font: simple, straight forward, and round (seriously, have you seen my post-baby backside?). It looks so articulate and sarcastic, too. And intimidating. Georgia shouldn't even mess with Times New Roman. It's like bubbles on sticks. The next time you need to write a hateful and despicably malicious note to someone, use Times New Roman. You'll get your point across. But whatever you do, don't use Comic Sans.

I didn't know they were so pretty.

My mother-in-law likes to find caterpillars in her garden and put them in containers so the grand kids can watch them morph each time they come to visit. This time, she put the caterpillar in an empty, uncovered, plastic 2-liter soda bottle with some leaves and whatever else she puts in there to make him happy. The caterpillars usually don't try to escape, but this one made a run for it. The next morning, this is what mom-in-law found on her kitchen cabinet:

Happy Love Thursday

I don't feel like I need to explain this photo. It's all right there.
My husband is in Iraq. 4 months to go.
I love you, James.
