What's so wrong with Times New Roman?

A couple of weeks ago, my sister and I were having a heated discussion about fonts. We really do talk about stuff like that. My sister likes Arial. I hate Arial. It's so tall and line-y. I, on the other hand, am partial to Times New Roman. I think Times New Roman is me in a font: simple, straight forward, and round (seriously, have you seen my post-baby backside?). It looks so articulate and sarcastic, too. And intimidating. Georgia shouldn't even mess with Times New Roman. It's like bubbles on sticks. The next time you need to write a hateful and despicably malicious note to someone, use Times New Roman. You'll get your point across. But whatever you do, don't use Comic Sans.

Yes, Comic Sans screams "Delete!" I am partial to Palatino Linotype. It's nice looking & you can say it over and over - it's got rhythm.

I agree...I love this post...most people never think much about it...

I just want it to be simple but readable...some of them have so many scrolls I can't even read what they say...what's up with that???

I came over to check out your BSM, and I saw this post...I just HAD to read it. I am totally not Times New Roman, but I LOVE that you would have this conversation with someone. I would do that too. I am a teacher, and I almost never use Times New Roman...I am always looking for a friendly font...something that would not scare the middle schoolers away! LOL. I just can not say how much fun this is to think about. Thank you. :)
